Please increase the contrast!

---Overall---
This was a crude clone of well... whatever game started this. It was not original at all and the graphics were bad. I guess the hi-score integration was nice.

---Gameplay---
The controls were good, but nothing new. The game did provide a challenge, seeing how the bubbles moved closer and closer and the player had to eliminate the bubbles before they reached him.

---Graphics/Animation---
The graphics were just TERRIBLE. You probably got the balls off of some random website, and I could barely see what I was doing.

PLEASE, PLEASE increase the contrast! I couldn't tell the difference between yellow and green in the game, and it was just a terrible experience. It almost made me vomit. Please get less blinding graphics next time and spend more time on them.

---Sound---
The music consisted of a short loop of some synthesized sounds, and really got on my nerves after a while. I muted it eventually.

Not amusing, interesting or looking good.

To be honest, the art was quite mediocre. There was no animation in this, either.

The "gameplay" was very simple and it's not original. I suppose it picks a random number from 0 to x and then access a variable in an array with that. No impressive coding either.

Sometimes, the "generator" was showing nothing, and you made a few spelling errors.

Graphics
The graphics could be improved greatly. The backgrounds are quite alright, but need some polishing.
The kitten has quite a big head, which is very cute, but also a bit out of proportion. The animation was quite alright, but it could be a lot smoother. Try increasing the FPS, that would work!

Sound
I completely hated your choice of music. I was glad that I could mute it, and that you at least put in music. It's a good thing that I can choose between different songs.
The retarded animal babies theme is rather gay in my opinion. Like a kid's show with pedophiles, just wrong. It didn't loop nicely either.
The second one was too loud, just like the third one, and again wrong, like Wacko Jacko and children in the same room, with no other adults around.

Sound effects could be added, like purring, licking sounds, etc.

Gameplay
The switching between backgrounds was a nice feature, and the idea for the game is nice. Putting my mouse on his right eye would make him blink repeatedly, which I thought is a bit weird.
A lot of features could be added. Like different kittens, making your own kitten (colour, face, tail, etc.) and more emotes/things you can interact with.

Overall
The graphics are okay, need some polishing, I absolutely hated the sound, but you DID put in sound, together with a mute button, which can only be good. The idea is nice, but it could be expanded, with way more features, let your creativity flow!

The feelings I got right after opening the Flash were really mixed. At the very beginning, there's an advertisement. Now there's nothing wrong with advertisements, but I just don't like them when I didn't get the chance to see the actual artwork first. The next: Good pixel art, but quite bad, filter whored vector graphics.
The last remains throughout the whole game, which is a huge bummer. I hated the main graphics, but the pixel art was quite good. The main graphics need some polishing, really. You could've, for example, used the circle tool for the sniper vision instead of drawing an ugly, imperfect circle.

Story

The story is quite simple, a few clichés and needs a bit of polishing.
A mad professor causing a zombie outbreak, etc. Not THAT original, eh? The story (zombies) didn't really match the bright colours.

Sound

I didn't really like the music - not because it's 8-bit, but because it doesn't fit the brightness of the game (bright colours). There was a lack of sound effects, too. When you're firing a sniper rifle, it makes quite a loud noise, you know.

Gameplay

The gameplay was quite enjoyable. Having to assassinate a different celebrity that's turned into a zombie every time is quite fun. It began very easy, but slowly got harder, like it should.

It was too bad that all there was to do was click, though. Reloading/zooming in/out could be added, different weapons, scenes, etc. More modes could be added, too!

The three locks for the door was a cool idea. It generated a bit of stress, which is good.

Overall

The gameplay is good and the story is good enough. The graphics sucked, in exception to the pixel art, and the sound could be improved too.

Keep making better versions and let me know when a new version gets out :)

Thank you very much for the review. Knowing what I can improve will be a great help with this game and future games. Thanks!

Awesome game

To be honest, the title really got me here. I mean, exploding cows and milk!

The graphics were really good, nice and cartoon and the music really was stupid, but in a good way. The music is horrible, but had just that thing that I needed in this game, somewhat like "Oi, hurry up, there's a crisis going on!" and yet a bit farmer-ish.

Just milking the cows before they exploded was funny on itself, the shooting was a nice twist. It reminds me of Wii Play, there's a minigame in there in which you have to shoot clay disks, but also some tiny birds that happen to fly through the screen sometimes.

Overall, I loved this game. I think it's better than a lot of frontpaged submissions, so this goes in my favorites!

Boring

This was a really unoriginal game, just another "ripoff" of memory.
It was really easy and there was only one level? Well, it's hard to have multiple levels in a game like this anyways.

The ice to the right of the game field was a nice extra, looked really good and there was no lag at all in the game.
Cheating in this game is really easy. Just click all of the cards, as I call them, rapidly after each other and you'll get a score of more than 7,000.
The sounds annoyed me, so the mute button was a nice feature, but no music? Come on!

The fact that it took a while for the card I clicked on to show annoyed me, a 1.5 second animation is just a bit too long for me, especially since your score is based on the time it takes for you to finish the puzzle.

Overall, this was good enough to kill a minute of my time.

Love it.

I liked the music, gameplay and simple graphics. The physics were cool and the mute button was a really good thing. Did like the walkthrough button, as I got stuck in this challenging puzzle game (recommended for puzzle).

Really cool tutorial.

/*I'm a fan of lineart.*/
The "Wave" character following through the tutorial was really cute and the artwork you did was amazing. I really liked the navigation (LEFT,RIGHT,UP keys).

As for the learning part, this is really good, for beginners as well as more expierenced users. You explained almost every little detail and you gave the more experienced photoshoppers the ability to skip parts. The overview was nice.

Following this tutorial was a piece of cake, I would like a lineart tutorial though.
And I'm missing music! That really sucks. Flashers often forget to put in music and so did you. Shame on you.

With that said, great tutorial!

Wavechan responds:

Thankyou :D I'm glad Wave was cute!! :)

I guess I should do a lineart... I'm just not very confident with my drawings vs my coloring.

:( Sorry! The only reason why I don't add music is cause I didn't want it to be annoying. Everyone's tastes in music are so different, and there's a lot to read, so I also didn't want it to be so distracting. I suppose I could've added some sound effects on the rollovers though to show things are happening.

Thanks again :)

You have to improve this, on multiple surfaces.

Here is a list of things I did not like and you should therefore improve:
A) The instructions are in French. I did understand them, but others possibly don't and as this is an English "speaking" language, you lose alot of players.
B) It's full of bugs. I get pushed back when I don't touch the balls. I get pushed off the screen, don't die and have to refresh the page to play again.
C) The music got on my nerves, a mute button is needed.
D) The music started over every time I re-played the game, there's no music in the menu.
E) The credits button led to the game, but without balls?
F) The graphics weren't too good, to be honest.

If you improve on these things, it'd make a great game (altough it isn't original).

ScreamsfromtheCasket responds:

noted!
1. I will change it from French to English.
2. the Hit tests are going to be better in the next version.
3. More options will be added ( such as the music)
4.Credits are fixed and the graphics will be better next time.

Constructive criticism.

Very good. I think the good points have already been named a couple of times, so here are the things you could improve.

- Make it longer! I know everyone says that, but it's really needed. I beat the game in under 15 minutes, which isn't that much. Making it longer would increase replay value.

- Add more features, such as sandbox mode (making a level with any ramp height, glider, thruster fuel, etc.) and cheats. For some reason, people like cheats.

- Create more achievements. Doing so would also greatly improve replay value. The fact you at least put in achievements is ok, but you really need more and different types of achievements.

Hope I helped.

Lightbringer777 responds:

Hey, thanks for the neat critic, making the game longer and adding achievements was already in the next Learn to Fly planned, but I will look into was of adding "sandbox" mode, maybe I'll add a mode where there are obstacles too.

I'm the alt of some guy that signed up in '07. I needed a fresh start, so this is now my main account. There! I changed my aura. Happy noa!?
